HOW TO CHOOSE AN EVENT PLANNER

Not all event planners are created equal. In fact very few are experienced, professional, and dedicated to the profession. It takes years in the industry to build up a network of reliable vendors and it takes constant diligence to keep up with current trends, new venues, and new vendors. Before hiring an event planner inquire as to their level of experience in the following:

  • Budgeting
  • Venue selection
  • Event design
  • Catering
  • Décor
  • Rentals
  • Entertainment
  • Invitations
  • Transportation
  • Accommodations
  • Staffing
  • Photography/Videography
  • AV equipment
  • Webcasting
  • Videoconferencing
  • Onsite supervision

Good, professional event planners will save you time and money. They are flexible and versatile and can provide services on an as needed basis or plan and execute your entire event. An experienced, professional event planner will be pleased to show you photos of the events that they handled and share with you their roster of clients. A corporate event planner will have had experience with a wide range of events from AGMs to fundraising galas and everything in between. Event planners are creative geniuses and logistics experts rolled into one.

If you are looking for an event planner, look no further. Contact Events by Parris. With years of experience in the industry, we can help to differentiate your company from the competition. Our professionalism, expertise, personal touch, creativity, and attention to detail is why we stand out from the crowd. Just one call to Events by Parris and your company will too.

Event: Revlon Canada's Holiday Party

The candles were lit, the jitterbug dancers were dressed, and the Revlon-tinis had been poured. It was time to get this party started! Held at The Carlu on December 8th, Revlon Canada's holiday party was a memorable evening for all. This years theme was the 1930s--and from the dinner tables named after 30s stars (I was at the Clark Table Table) to the energetic jitterbug dancers the 1930s were back in full swing that night!

Here are just a few images from this fantastic evening:

PLANNING AN AGM (ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING)

The AGM (Annual General Meeting) is an important event for every company – private and public sector. It is an excellent opportunity to give an overview of the company’s current situation, stressing the positives, discussing its financial health, and building confidence within the organization and the public. There is usually much business and annual housekeeping to be dealt with including the President’s message, election of Board members, the amendment of by-laws, the appointment of auditors, and presentation of annual audited financial statements.

The planning of such an important event should not be left to chance. There are many things to take into consideration.
  • Travel
  • Accommodations
  • Transportation – to and from the airport, train station or bus station, in addition to within the city
  • Venue – should be conveniently located, easily accessible, and accommodate the group comfortably
  • Meeting rooms – includes required equipment such as Internet connections, audio-visual equipment, projection screens, white boards, flip charts, fax machines, webcasting, videoconferencing, photo copy machines
  • Support staff – administrative, secretarial
  • Catering – coffee breaks and meals during the meetings
  • Welcome party
  • Meet and greet parties
  • Banquets – onsite or at a restaurant or other venue
  • Social activities and/or sight seeing – for guests in from out of town so that they are made to feel welcome and enjoy their stay during non-working hours

Leave the planning of your AGM to the professionals at Events by Parris. Let us take care of the details so that you can take care of business.
